Teleconferences or Webcasts

Teleconferences are downlinked from a satellite. Webcasts are sent via the internet and accessed by a computer. Webcasts can be viewed on an individual’s computer or displayed for an audience with an LCD projector connected to a computer.

1. Teleconferences
They can be setup in three different arrangements:

  • Live audience - teleconferences with a live audience can only be held at FO#7-107 or EVC 114
  • Live audience and tape recorded - can only be held at FO#7-107 or EVC 114
  • Tape only - You do not need to fill out this Web Request Form since you are not requesting a room, but must initiate a request for a “tape only teleconference” with the Help Desk. But you are still responsible for making contact with the teleconference provider, making payment and then forwarding the satellite coordinate information to Wally Luksa at IDS-EVC, wluksa@mccneb.edu, 289-1342.

2. Webcast
The Web Resource Request form does not need to be filled out for an individual viewer. It must be filled out if intended for an audience in FO#7-107, EVC 114 or an available techroom. Most webcasts require special software be loaded on the viewing computer To ensure compatibility with College systems, it is critical that information be passed on to Wally Luksa in a timely manner.

Please follow the procedures listed below for externally or internally sponsored events.

  • External Organizations –Teleconferences or webcasts that involve organizations from outside the college must be booked through Ayanna Boykins, WDI Coordinator, 457-2569 aboykins@mccneb.edu. She will get permissions to host the event, complete the Web Resource form to reserve the room and fill in the portion about the program. She will register and pay for the event and provide satellite coordinates or webcast urls to Wally Luksa at IDS-EVC, wluksa@mccneb.edu, 289-1342 when received from the program provider.
  • Internal College Departments – Registration and payment are the responsibility of the College department sponsoring the event. After registration, the program provider will send a technical sheet containing satellite coordinates or webcast urls for the event that must be forwarded to Wally Luksa at IDS-EVC, wluksa@mccneb.edu, 289-1342.
